Parkinson says he withdrew the unhappy Racon for tactical reasons
Charlton manager Phil Parkinson insists he has no problem with midfielder Therry Racon.
The Frenchman, who was withdrawn after 79 minutes of Saturday's 2-2 draw against Gillingham, stormed off and refused to shake the manager's hand.
Parkinson told BBC Radio Kent: "I explained to Therry that had he been in my position with 15 minutes remaining he would have done the same.
"It was a tactical decision because I wanted to go and win the game."
He explained: "Jose Semedo was outstanding as our midfield protector while our skipper Nicky Bailey is our second highest scorer. In the past I've withdrawn Semedo and handed the protector role to Racon.
"On this occasion I decided to withdraw Therry. My decision on the day was no reflection on Therry who's a great lad.
"Nobody likes being taken off and Therry is no exception."
Parkinson confirmed that Charlton are giving a trial to Bromley top-scorer Warren McBean who scored twice on his debut in a friendly against Chelsea Reserves.
