Hare races to easy win
James Hare retained his title with a first-round knock-out
Huddersfield's James Hare defended his Commonwealth welterweight title with the fastest victory of his career.

He stopped Jamaican Earl Foskin in the first round at Everton Park Sports Centre.

A double jab put Foskin down in the second minute and although he survived a standing count it proved to be a short-lived reprieve.

Hare moved in swiftly to finish Foskin off and a left hook did the damage.

The Jamaican was left reeling on the ropes and a flurry of punches saw him go down again, prompting the referee to stop the fight.

Hare was happy with an impressive second defence of his title while admitting that there will be tougher challenges ahead.

"I set off steadily because I didn't know anything about him but I caught him early and there wasn't much in his legs after that."

The 26-year-old Yorkshireman now boasts a record of 24 wins and one draw.
