We need to re-group - McFarland

Burton Albion manager Roy McFarland says his side need to re-group to ensure they seal a place in the Football League next season.

The Brewers' 2-1 defeat to Kidderminster meant they missed out on instant promotion on Monday.

McFarland told BBC Radio Derby: "We've got two games to go now and again it's still in our hands. We've missed out on a great opportunity.

"We've got to be stronger and we've got to see it through."

McParland said conceding two sloppy goals kept his side from confirming their Football League place.

"It would have been nice to have won it today and we had the chance to win it," he said.

"It's this end of the season where teams do become tired but it's no good saying what might have been - we've got to make sure we do it on Friday."

McFarland's side are one point away from automatic promotion and face Oxford on Friday.

Cambridge are the only side that can deny their promotion if they take maximum points and the Brewers lose their next two games.

The U's would also need to improve their goal difference over Burton by more than six goals.
