Kent's Paul Farbrace fears rich clubs could rule t20

Kent coach Paul Farbrace has said he fears wealthier clubs may turn the FP t20 into a two-tier competition.

Farbrace told BBC Radio Kent: "We've already seen teams who've got two or even three overseas players being able to rotate them in games.

"Money doesn't always buy success though. You've got to find the right players for your squad and make sure they fit in with the rest of the team."

Sri Lankan spinner Malinga Bandara is Kent's sole overseas player.

The Spitfires have suffered three defeats in their last four t20 matches, all of them featuring match-winning performances from expensive imports.

Australian Adam Gilchrist scored a century for Middlesex at Canterbury, fellow Aussie Andrew Symonds hit seven sixes in his 62 for Surrey at the Oval, while West Indies' Kieron Pollard took a career-best 4-15 for Somerset at Beckenham.

"I still don't believe we should be wasting energy worrying about what we haven't got at Kent though," added Farbrace.

"It's up to all of us to get on with it and do the best possible job with the resources we have got."
