Saints pack are the key - Dickson

Northampton scrum-half Lee Dickson says their backs must thank the pack for their excellent start to the season.

Fly-half Shane Geraghty, full-back Ben Foden and centre Jon Clarke are all being tipped for England selection in the forthcoming autumn internationals.

Dickson told BBC Radio Northampton: "It's great playing with those boys but the hard work starts up front. Our pack have been phenomenal.

"They've been the platform for the likes of Shane and Ben to run ragged."

And the former Newcastle Falcons half-back is keen to graduate from his previous appearances for the England Saxons to the full international squad.

"I want to build on my international performances and make a name for myself.

"If we start winning and stay at the right end of the table that's when people start looking at us," Dickson said.

"Playing with the likes of Shane is good for me. I want to play for England, that's why I play this game. If I keep playing well then the phone might ring."

Northampton Saints are third in the Guinness Premiership after three wins out of four.

Jim Mallinder's side are at Wasps this Sunday.
