Tony Roach resigns as Histon chairman

Histon

Histon chairman Tony Roach has resigned from his role after just five months in charge at the club.

Roach took over at the Glass World Stadium in November following Gareth Baldwin's decision to step down.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If it was a different regime I would be quite happy to be the chairman.

"Nobody else was willing to put anything in. Both me and my wife felt like we weren't getting support from the other directors whatsoever."

In January, Roach sacked Steve Fallon as manager after a public fall out and hired Alan Lewer to take over.

The Stutes are currently 16th in Blue Square Premier and have gone seven games without a win.

The club have yet to make a decision regarding a new chairman but will discuss the situation at a board meeting on Tuesday evening.
