Barrow winger Paul Rutherford believes the club must be positive when they face holders Stevenage in Saturday's FA Trophy final at Wembley.
Borough are favourites as Blue Square Premier champions but Rutherford insists an attacking approach from the Bluebirds could upset the formbook.
"If we can impose ourselves, and play football we can affect the game," Rutherford told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"There's no reason why we can't go and beat Stevenage."
Rutherford added: "The pitch will help the lads who like to play football, rather than scrap."
Having joined the Bluebirds on his release from Chester City during the summer of 2009, Rutherford's emergence in the Barrow side has been a growing one.
Initially the wide-man struggled to make an impression, but having established himself in the club's first team with 38 league appearances in 2009-10, he is pleased to have settled down at Holker Street.
"It did take a bit of time to settle in, it was the first time I'd started to play regularly, at Chester I'd only ever played around 20 games a season so it was hard at first," Rutherford added.
"Maybe November time I found my feet, then the break halted that, but I found my feet again and hopefully it's all paying off, I feel like it is and the managers have given me more praise and more pointers."
