Darren Gough has revealed he may play Twenty20 cricket for Yorkshire next season despite his retirement.

The former England seamer had announced that he would be leaving the first-class game at the end of this season.

He told the Yorkshire Post: "Yorkshire are keen for me to play for them next year in Twenty20 and I've had a couple of offers from other counties."

"If I am going to play Twenty20 next year, then realistically it would be for Yorkshire," the 37-year-old added.

"I've just told the club to plan ahead as normal and we'll see where we are next March.

"I'll have to see how I feel after the winter because my body might be 100% by then or it might be in bits, but I'm not going to rush into anything.

"It will come down to what is right for both parties at the time. It might not be right for Yorkshire or for me, but if Yorkshire do need someone and I'm okay, then I'm an obvious candidate.

He added: "I've also had a lot of IPL [Indian Premier League] interest because they know I can still perform in the one-day game."

After his success on Strictly Come Dancing, Gough, who turns 38 next week, is set to begin a career in television by presenting a Saturday evening game show and will not be available for County Championship cricket next year.
