With this line-up Slot has sacrificed the cup and a much-needed win. I don’t understand the rationale! He has hanged this team out to dry with such a weak bench.

They made it look easy, the big man. And Kinsky has helped in that direction.

Danso thinks Kinsky's going to deal with this but he doesn't

    That's a big goal.

    That man again!

Kevin Danso plays a poor ball into the middle and Newcastle spring. Joe Willock picks out the head of Nick Woltemade and he nods into an empty goal after Antonin Kinsky goes missing.

Brighton are knocking on the door but not quite hard enough.

This time it's Carlos Baleba with a strike from inside the D but Kepa collects.

That was the old 50 pence piece coming off the side of his head. He's totally mistimed it.

I wonder if Liverpool’s failure to sign Guehi was a sliding doors moment for them and him? Would he now want to move there in January?

That's the old 50p head from Joe Willock.

It's a beautiful cross and all Willock has to do is nod across goal from about four yards out but he gets it horribly wrong.

I would be inclined to take Milos Kerkez out of the firing line. Let him understand his role in the team. He is certainly struggling and he looks so uncomfortable.

    Swansea 1-1 Manchester City

    Gareth Vincent
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Swansea sniffed an upset in the opening half hour of this contest thanks to their excellent opening spell and that gorgeous Goncalo Franco goal.

But the game has a different feel now.

Manchester City are controlling the tempo of the contest and are having plenty of possession in the Swansea half.

The home side will do well to survive if this pattern continues.
