Bus routes change operators in the new year
Getty ImagesBus routes between Coventry and Warwickshire are changing in the new year in a move to keep the network "fit for the future", a councillor has said.
Warwickshire County Council said service contracts for several routes would reach their end on 2 January, when the services affected would be run by Stagecoach.
They were previously operated by National Express, Arriva and Coventry Minibuses.
The routes in the Coventry, Nuneaton, Bedworth and Rugby areas will see electric buses introduced later next year, with services that will see changes listed on the council website.
Councillor Jennifer Warren said: "These changes mark an important step in keeping Warwickshire's bus network reliable, connected and fit for the future.
"In bringing these routes under new contracts and preparing for the introduction of modern electric vehicles later in the year, we are working to ensure that residents across the county can continue to depend on regular, accessible and high-quality public transport."
From 2 January, tickets will be available on the Stagecoach website and can be bought on a bus, while Nbus tickets will continue to be accepted within the West Midlands Combined Authority area, the council said.
Tickets from Arriva, National Express or Coventry Minibuses will be honoured by Stagecoach for up to one month from their expiration date, and no later than 31 January 2026.
Customers, including those with student tickets, should contact the operator that issued them for refunds of annual and long-term tickets beyond January, the council said.
