Developers who had a plan for 111 homes rejected earlier this year after residents worried about their village's potential expansion have filed an appeal.

Dandara Southern Ltd and Elstree Land Ltd have reiterated they want to build the properties on land north of Reading Road in Arborfield.

Wokingham Borough Council's planners said the location is a greenfield site in the countryside, development of which was "unacceptable in principle" in May.

But details on the Planning Inspectorate's website show that Dandara Southern and Elstree Land filed an appeal earlier this month, with an inquiry expected to follow in March 2026.

The developers' agent argued the site was sustainably located and within walking distance of services and facilities.

The land is around 1km (0.62 miles) west of the brand new centre of Arborfield Cross and close to bus stops that run services into Reading, Shinfield and Wokingham.
