The RAF's most advanced fighter aircraft, the Eurofighter, is to be the star attraction at this year's Sunderland International Airshow.
The full line-up for the event on 30 and 31 July was announced at Durham Tees Valley Airport on Wednesday.
The Red Arrows will also return to the skies above Seaburn and Roker to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
Other attractions will include Strike Eagles from the US Air Force and F16s from Belgium and the Netherlands.
Also known as Typhoon, the Eurofighter is now being deployed by the RAF and is in its first season on the display circuit.
Display teams
Organisers of the 17th airshow have also managed to attract the United States Air Force to the event.
Two F-15E Strike Eagles from the 492 Fighter Squadron at RAF Lakenheath will be injecting some speed and drama into proceedings.
Also flying in for the airshow are the RAF Falcons display team and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
On the ground, a full programme is planned with the Royal Marine Commandos Display Team and Royal Navy PT Demo Team.
There is also a special appearance by one of the original cast members of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and visitors can have their photographs taken next to Chitty itself - the original car featured in the film.
For the first time ever, the airshow has a title sponsorship partner, Discovery Channel UK, and visitors can see New York jets bikes from Discovery Channel's cult TV show American Chopper.
