Airshow gets ready for take-off
Red Arrows flying at an air show
The Red Arrows are always a popular attraction at the show.
Aircraft from all over the world will take to the skies this summer for the 17th Sunderland International Airshow.

The event, which is taking place on 30 and 31 July, will feature the popular RAF display team, the Red Arrows, celebrating their 40th anniversary.

The Eurofighter, the RAF's most advanced fighter plane, will be appearing in its first season on the display circuit.

There will also be displays and entertainment on the ground.

Peter Chapman, airshow director said: "The Red Arrows have always been a crowd favourite at Sunderland and we're especially privileged to have them here during their 40th anniversary celebrations.

"In addition the appearance of the Typhoon in the flying programme is a real coup for us and I'm certain that it will thrill the crowds."
