Former Wasps and England captain Lawrence Dallaglio has repeated his call for Wasps' players who are soon out of contract to stay at the club.

There is continued speculation that some of the 19 Wasps players whose deals end this season will leave.

Dallaglio, who now serves on the Wasps board, told BBC London 94.9: "You are never going to stop a player moving, if they're motivated by money.

"But this is the right environment for players to reach their potential."

Among those who are soon to be out of contract are England internationals Danny Cipriani, 21, and James Haskell, 23.

Back-row Haskell has been linked with moves to Ospreys, Sale and Toulouse, while fly-half Cipriani is one of the hottest young talents in the game.

But Dallaglio has reminded all of the players negotiating new deals what they have achieved with the club already.

He said: "The likes of Haskell and Cipriani haven't been playing professional rugby for that long.

"They've won the Heineken Cup, they've won the Premiership, they've got themselves established as England internationals.

"A lot of that is down to their ability. But I think a lot of that has been down to the environment in which they've been put.

"Shaun Edwards and Ian McGeechan are two of the best coaches in the world. I think all of those players whose contracts are up for renewal are at one of the best clubs in the world. Hopefully many of them will agree with us."

Wasps owner Steve Hayes has offered take-it-or-leave deals to the players involved but Dallaglio was keen to stress nothing had been concluded yet.

"When they are in a position to make an announcement then they will do."
