Warrington: (14) 38 Tries: Monagahan, V Anderson, Hicks (2), Clarke, Johnson, Bracek Goals: Briers (4) Catalans Dragons: (12) 18 Tries: Greenshields, Raguin Goals: Bosc (2)
Chris Hicks claimed two tries as Warrington hammered the Dragons at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Lee Briers set up Michael Monaghan for Warrington's opener and Louis Anderson helped brother Vinnie for the second.
Clint Greenshields and Sebastien Raguin gave the visitors hope before three yellow cards wrecked their chances.
Hicks (2), Jon Clarke and Paul Johnson made Wakefield safe before Justin Murphy pulled one back, but Andy Bracek scored in stoppage time to seal it.
Warrington coach Paul Cullen on the win and another injury to Paul Wood:
"We worked hard for a 10-0 lead but unfortunately the lack of pace in the game frustrated us and it got scruffy at times.
"I was impressed with Martin Gleeson's defence and Chris Hicks is deceptively
strong.
"Paul's shoulder came out, he had it put back and has been sent to hospital. It doesn't look good. We are all gutted for Paul."
Catalans coach Mick Potter on his team's three yellow cards:
"I have no complaints - the referee obviously thought they were justified.
"We made far too many errors in the second half but I thought we were competitive."
