Nottingham Panthers player-coach Corey Neilson has hailed his side's intensity following their 6-3 victory over Newcastle Vipers on Saturday night.
Two goals each for Dan Tessier and Johan Molin were added to by strikes from Matthew Myers and David Clarke.
Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "The boys went out and played hard and we executed the game plan which was speed, speed, speed.
"The defence played really well and we moved the puck well too."
The game was a fiesty encounter, with Rumun Ndur and Andre Payette dropping the gloves after just 12 seconds.
Four minutes later Kevin Bergin and Derek Campbell went toe-to-toe.
Neilson added: "We have a lot of guys who can drop the gloves if need be and I thought Rumun and Bergy did really well. "
