Jack Doyle rode Ouzbeck to a close-fought victory in the English Summer National at Uttoxeter on Sunday. The 14/1 shot edged out Brooklyn Brownie into second place by a head over the three-and-a-half mile course. "I like coming to Uttoxeter and certainly enjoy winning this race," said trainer Emma Lavelle, who also won the race in 2009 with Fire and Rain. Valley Ride and Minella Four Star were third and fourth, with the 6/1 favourite Classic Frontier sixth. A crowd of around 10,000 were at the Staffordshire course, although the attendance was affected by the World Cup second round match between England and Germany. Tony McCoy claimed a hat-trick of wins on the afternoon, riding Hoar Frost, Yellow Flag and Fealing Real to victory.
