Middlesbrough made a winning start to their Roller Hockey Premier League season with a 7-5 victory over rivals Herne Bay on Sunday. Boro survived a second-half fightback from the Kent side to emerge winners, thanks to braces from Owen Stewart and debutant Sam Kay. The game also marked debuts for Kay, an England under-20 international and England under-17 player Will Smith. Next up at the Rainbow Centre are Manchester on Saturday, 31 October.
