Guy Martin has agreed to stay with the Hydrex Honda team for the 2009 Isle of Man TT, following a change of heart.
The Lincolnshire rider, 27, had agreed to join Rob Mac Yamaha but decided to stay with Hydrex after being told he could pick his own support team.
Martin has had a troubled year in the short circuit season and broke down in three races at the 2008 TT.
He told BBC Isle of Man he cannot wait to compete next year: "The TT is the best thing in the world ever."
The truck fitter, who uses all of his holidays to compete in races, created history in September by winning the international Steve Henshaw Gold Cup for a record sixth time.
And Martin, who had signed a letter of intent to join Rob McElnea's team, said Hydrex boss Shaun Muir had helped change his mind.
"Whatever Shaun says he does, he's a grafter. He's allowed me to make changes to the team for the TT," he said.
