Torquay United have signed midfielder Nicky Wroe from York City.
The 22-year-old has moved to the Devon club for an undisclosed fee after being placed on the transfer list.
Wroe was expected to be part of Colin Walker's plans for the new season at York but he told the club he no longer wanted to play for them.
The Minstermen had exercised the option to extend his contract for a further year but the player would not commit to the coming season.
Wroe joined York City in August 2007 after he was released by Barnsley, he scored 10 goals in 39 appearances.
