Cliftonville striker Liam Boyce named player of month
Liam Boyce has had a superb season with Cliftonville
Cliftonville's promising young forward Liam Boyce has won the Carling player of the month award for April.
Boyce is the north Belfast club's top scorer this season with 19 goals and his performances helped them finish second in the Premiership.
He scored vital goals in victories over Crusaders, Portadown and Dungannon Swifts during the month of April.
"It is nice to be told you are doing the right things and to pick up an award for it is brilliant," said Boyce.
Boyce came out on top of the NI Football Writers' Association's voting ahead of Coleraine striker Rory Patterson and Linfield midfielder Robert Garrett.
The Championship player of the month was Darragh Peden of Loughgall.
Mark Gillan from Ballymoney United came second in the vote while Donegal Celtic striker Paul McVeigh was third.
