Harrogate Town back in top five

Neil Aspin had uncertainty surrounding his squad in the build up to the game

Harrogate Town moved back in to the play off places in Blue Square North after a 2-0 win over Burscough at the CNG Stadium.

Richard Marshall put Town ahead in the first half and Jamie Smith added a second after the break.

Harrogate Town manager Neil Aspin told BBC Radio York: "It was just the boost we needed.

"We needed to get playing again because we've nowhere to train. We've not been able to touch a ball for two weeks."

The game was also the first since the whole squad was put on, then taken off again, from the transfer list.

Goalkeeper Jim Provett and striker Danny Holland left in that time meaning Jonathan Hedge made his first appearance in goal.

Aspin added: "We'd a goalkeeper that hasn't played all season. He's not been able to have any practise or handling so there was a lot of concerns going in to the game but I'm delighted to get a win and get a clean sheet."
