Workington Town chairman Dave Bowden has reassured supporters that the club is in safe hands financially.
Town have released four first-team players in order to cut costs and Bowden insisted such steps have ensured the club remains on a solid footing.
"We are not going into administration, I make that absolutely clear," Bowden told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"But in order to avoid going into administration we have to make cuts -we're getting on with doing that."
Bowden added: "Our debt comparatively speaking is minimal. For example Workington Town does not have a bank overdraft, and has a very small minimum rate owed to the taxman and after this month it will be less than £7,000."
Mark Hobson, Tommy Brindle, Carl Forber and Stephen Roper were released to save costs, and their departures follow those of Jay Duffy and Ryan Benjafield, who left the club last week.
Forber is the club's current top points scorer and notched in every Workington game of the National One season last term.
Town are currently eighth in the 10-team Championship One table.
