Kightly has been absent from the Wolves side since March
Wolves have confirmed that winger Michael Kightly will miss the start of the Premier League season.
The 23-year-old broke a metatarsal in March and missed the run-in to the club's Championship title win.
Kightly's recovery is taking longer than the club had originally hoped and he has now been ruled out of Wolves' opener against West Ham on 15 August.
Wolves manager Mick McCarthy told BBC WM: "The first game of the season is probably a bit ambitious for him."
He added: "He's just finding it difficult to get back to full tilt. He can't play in the Premier League until he's fully fit."
England under-21 international Kightly, who has made pre-season appearances in Wolves' defeats by Port Vale and Bristol City, had hoped to be fit for the start of the campaign.
