Midfielder Josh Walker has signed a two-year deal with Watford after joining from Middlesbrough on a free.
The Hornets have the option of a further one-year on the 21-year-old's contract and have agreed to give Boro a percentage of any future sale.
The defensive midfielder made five starts and eight substitute appearances during his time at the Riverside.
He will go straight into Malky Mackay's squad for Saturday's Championship trip to Hull City.
Walker has spent time at Bournemouth, Aberdeen and Rotherham on loan, featuring 15 times for the Millers during a three-month spell last season.
The former England Under-16, 17 and 20 player, who came through the Boro academy, can also play at centre-half.
