Macclesfield Town midfielder Richard Butcher has been ruled out for up to a month with knee ligament damage.
The 29-year-old midfielder was forced off after an hour in the Silkmen's 1-0 defeat by Shrewsbury.
Butcher joined the club on a free transfer in the summer after a loan spell from Lincoln City last season and has started every game so far.
Silkmen boss Gary Simpson told the club website: "It could be at best three to four weeks before we get him back."
He added: "It's disappointing news as Butch is a key player for us. But it's an opportunity for someone to come in and stake their claim.
"We've got several options in the middle of the park and depending on what formation we go with for the Accrington game."
