Horsfield's career transfer fees add up to a total of £5.75m
Ex-Birmingham striker Geoff Horsfield is to train with Lincoln City.
Horsfield, 35, was given the all-clear to return to football this month after treatment for testicular cancer.
Lincoln manager Peter Jackson, a former team-mate of Horsfield's at Halifax, told the club website: "He's without a club and we need a striker.
"We'll see what his fitness levels are like. In January I'll be one of 50 or 60 managers looking for a striker so if this comes off it'll be a coup for us."
Horsfield, who was training with Walsall in October when it was first revealed that he was suffering with testicular cancer, was informed by the surgeon that it could be the end of his professional career.
But, in early December, he received the all-clear and has expressed his desire to stay in the game in some capacity - and will train this week with the Imps.
He first made his name as a striker with Halifax Town, where he played alongside Jackson.
Horsfield then got his big break in league football at Fulham before being involved in £1m-plus transfers to Birmingham, Wigan Athletic, West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United.
