Malvern ran out of front row forwards

Luctonians ground out a win to stay top of Midlands One but Malvern could face a replay of their game.

Luc's trailed to a penalty in thier game at South Leicester, but the league leaders took advantage of the home side being reduced to 14 men.

Cameron Hewitt crossed for a vital try and full back Bruce Thomas landed a penalty for an 8-3 win.

Malvern were hammered 56-10 by Broadstreet but the game ended with uncontested scrums.

Malvern lost two front row players before the 60-minute mark, after Joe Ling and Dan Batten went off injured, which means the RFU may order a replay.

Simon Dawes was sent off for the Spring Lane side for stamping after ten minutes, and Broadstreet took full advantage to romp home 56-10.

Luctonians are still a point clear at the top, while Malvern are still bottom without a point after eight games.

In Midlands Two West Bromsgrove kept up the chase for honours with a hard-fought 21-13 home win against Cheltenham North, but Hereford's suffered only their second league defeat, beaten 20-11 at Solihull.

Bromsgrove stay level at the top with Burton, both sides having 14 points each, with Hereford third two points behind.
