Luctonians stay top of Midlands One
|
Luctonians put their recent struggles behind them by smashing Kettering 66-0 at Kingsland in Midlands One.
After two close wins and a defeat, the performance came as welcome relief as they outplayed a poor Kettering side.
Right-wing Pat Garrod ran in a hat-trick of tries, with prop Anthony Marfill and centre Cameron Hewett scoring a brace each.
But Malvern continue to struggle after losing for the seventh time, going down 35-22 to Newport.
They put in a spirited display against the second-placed side and led 17-15 at the end of the first half.
Tries from Ryan Henshaw, Richard Hobbs and an 80 metre solo effort from Greg Summers had them in front.
But Newport ran in five tries of their own to secure victory and leave Malvern bottom without a point.
