Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith loaned to Brentford
Smith is the fifth Ipswich player to join Brentford on loan in the last 18 months
Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith has agreed a one-month loan deal with League One side Brentford.
Smith, 19, has made 10 appearances for the Ipswich first team this season but has not featured in manager Roy Keane's squad since October.
He told the club website: "It's a chance for me to go out and play regular first-team football. That's what I need at the moment."
Smith is eligible for selection in New Zealand's squad for the World Cup.
Smith is the fifth Ipswich player to join Brentford on loan in the last 18 months.
Strikers Dean Bowditch, Billy Clarke and Jordan Rhodes all spent time with the Bees last season, while defender Pim Balkestein is currently into a second month at Griffin Park.
