Hull official happy with fixtures

Andy Dawson
Dawson thinks Hull can become a "global brand" following promotion

Hull director Andy Dawson is pleased with the club's fixture list in their inaugural Premier League season.

The Tigers, who host Fulham on the opening day and finish the season at home to Manchester United, will play Chelsea in Yorkshire on 28 October.

Dawson told BBC Look North: "To start eight weeks from now against Fulham and the finale against Manchester United couldn't be better.

"We're very much looking forward to the first big [home] one against Chelsea."

Bookmakers in East Yorkshire are taking a harder line of the club's chances of avoiding relegation on the first season.

Speaking from William Hill's branch in Anlaby, regional manager Ben Bradley admitted the Tigers were favourites for the drop.

"A good bet is how many home games Hull City will win against the big four - Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea. It's 14-1 for Hull to win two of those matches."

Hull fan Phil Moore, who travels from Lincolnshire to every home game, said: "Given their away record I definitely wanted Fulham for the first game."

The match against Fulham is scheduled for 1500 BST on 16 August at the KC Stadium.
