Omer Riza hits setback in Histon return

Histon striker Omer Riza has suffered another injury in his bid to return to fitness after a hamstring tear.

The club are hopeful the 31-year-old's fresh concern, which is on the same hamstring, is a minor problem.

Player-manager David Livermore told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We'll try and get another scan on it to see how we're looking in terms of the damage.

"I just shows it was a little bit too soon for him. He's a player we need back in the squad."

Livermore is hopeful he can get himself fit for Saturday's clash with Luton Town after making his debut in the 1-0 reverse to Kidderminster five days ago.

"I came off at the weekend with what I thought was cramp but it's been proven to be a little bit more than that," he said.

We want to get the right player in, we don't want a knee-jerk reaction

The 30-year-old featured in the side after defender Femi Ilesanmi returned to his parent club Dageham & Redbridge.

The Stutes boss says he is on the look out for more recruits.

"We've had a few doors shut in our faces, we're still trying hard," he added.

"We want to get the right player in, we don't want a knee-jerk reaction, it's got to be the right person for the football club.

"If we don't get someone in we'll just have to shuffle the pack and deal with it, this is why we have squads of players."
