New deals for Pools' pair
Division Three leaders Hartlepool have boosted their promotion prospects by agreeing deals with two key players.
Captain Michael Barron and striker Adam Boyd have both signed new contracts which will keep them at the club until the end of the 2004-2005 season. Barron has made more than 200 appearances for Pools since signing for them from Middlesbrough in 1997. Hartlepool born Boyd, who came through the youth ranks at Victoria Park, has scored four goals this season.
