Brian France became Scarborough boss when the club formed in 2007
Scarborough Athletic moved 11 points clear at the top of Northern Counties East League Division One by hammering Bottesford Town 6-0 on Saturday.
The Seadogs led 1-0 at half-time with an early Rob Ellis strike but David Hartas, Ryan Blott, Richard Medcalf and Daniel Gray (2) added further goals.
Athletic manager Brian France said: "In the first half we weren't too good, having had three weeks without a match.
"In the second half I thought we got the ball down and did well."
France was pleased to see three goals come from corner kicks.
"I've been saying we should score a lot more, we've got some good headers of the ball and the deliveries have been good," he said.
"We haven't been putting many in until today, hopefully that's the start of a lot more."
Saturday's game was the ninth time this season that Athletic have scored six or more goals in a game, and the second time they have done so against Bottesford.
It was the only game played in the division and France praised the ground-staff at their temporary home of Queensgate in Bridlington for clearing off piles of snow.
"They moved the pitch inspection to 11 o'clock to see whether the game was on," France added. "But the pitch was perfect, and I thank [the ground-staff] ever so much."
Scarborough's FA Vase run sees them with two games in hand over second-placed Askern Villa, but France is refusing to accept that his side have won the title yet.
"We're a young side. If you say you've won it, they'll obviously believe it and maybe not perform as much, so it's never won until it's won, is it?," he said.
