Moeen has over 900 runs in first-class cricket this summer

Worcestershire batsman Moeen Ali has said he is happy at New Road, despite reports linking him with a move away at the end of the season. Nottinghamshire have denied approaching former Warwickshire batsman Moeen, 23, who came back to form with a one-day hundred against Glamorgan. He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "I have still got a year left on my contract here. "It's a good place to be, especially as a young player. You play every game." Moeen blasted 121 against Glamorgan in the CB40 as the Royals won for the first time in eight starts in the competition this season. The former England Under-19 skipper says it was a welcome return to form for him, but he struggled at the start. He said: "I have never played and missed so much, but the pitch was a bit two paced.

We like being the underdogs, especially against big clubs like Surrey.

"We thought it was not a 280-run wicket so to get 296 was great. It shows if you keep wickets in hand you can go hard at the end. "I haven't scored many runs in the last few games. I've had a couple of bad decisions and a couple caught down the leg side." Moeen, who is a Muslim, said it had been a tough time for him during Ramadan. "I have been fasting for the past few days, and I think in all forms of cricket it has been tough, and we are starting to get a little tired." But he added it had been an outstanding week at New Road after hammering Surrey in the County Championship and Glamorgan in the CB40. "We like being the underdogs, especially against big clubs like Surrey. They expect to come here and roll us over but we dealt with them, so it's been a good week for the club." Worcestershire return to County Championship action at Northampton on Wednesday 25 August (1100 BST). Ball-by-ball commentary from BBC Hereford and Worcester can be found on 738am and online.
