Marcus Trescothick hit an unbeaten 69 as Somerset thrashed Glamorgan by 10 wickets in the Twenty20 Cup. Trescothick struck nine fours and a six in his 47-ball effort, as the hosts easily chased down their victory target of 129. He was well supported by Craig Kieswetter (57 not out) as Somerset got home in 14.4 overs. Earlier, captain Jamie Dalrymple top scored with 56 as Glamorgan could only muster 128-7 from their 20 overs. Zander de Bruyn picked up two wickets for the home side, while seamer Charl Willoughby conceded just 16 runs in his four overs. The only negative note in Somerset's victory came when paceman Alfonso Thomas was ordered out of the attack for bowling two full-tosses above waist height in his opening over. The win, played for the first time in front of their new £1.8m pavilion, lifts Somerset to second in the Mid/West/Wales Division. Glamorgan sit fifth, level on two points with bottom side Gloucestershire, who have played one game fewer.
