Cornwall had a productive opening day in their Minor Counties game with Shropshire at Whitchurch on Sunday. Shropshire were all out for 202 having at one stage been 62-6, before Andy Gray led their fightback with 68. Cornwall's Dan Davis bowled an outstanding 24 overs, including nine maidens, to take 4-40. In overcast conditions, Cornwall then reached 84-3 at the close as bad light stopped play - with Keith Parsons not out on 30. David Roberts, Matt Robins and Gary Thomas were the men out for Cornwall.
