St Just have won the Vinter Cup for the sixth consecutive time after defeating Paul by 18 runs in the final. After losing both openers for nought, St Just were rescued by Gary Thomas (29) and Gavin Edwards (25) to reach 82 all out from their 20 overs. In reply, Paul fell 18 runs short of their target, finishing on 64 all out. St Just's Gareth May told BBC Radio Cornwall: "People have written us off but we've shown tonight we're still firing on all cylinders." St Just will now be hoping to try and retain the Cornish Premier League title to complete a league and cup double for the sixth year in a row. May said continuity within the team has been a key factor in the club's success during that period.
"We've kept the same bunch of lads over the six years and the will to win is there every year. "We want to keep winning more and the Vinter Cup win's shown that we can still do it," said May. St Just are just one point behind Werrington in the CPL with nine games of the season remaining.
