Chairman Peter Ridsdale says Cardiff City will consider offers to sell Joe Ledley if the Wales midfielder refuses to sign a new contract.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis has already said that they may make a fresh bid for the 22-year-old, a long-term target.
Everton and Wolves are also thought to be interested in signing Ledley.
"Joe's got a year to go on his contract and clearly we've demonstrated over the last few years we don't allow people to go for nothing," Ridsdale told the BBC.
"If he won't sign a new contract then we would listen to offers but so far we haven't had any.
"So I don't know what his future is, we'll find out when we kick a ball next August."
Cardiff rejected a reported £6m bid for Ledley last summer from the Potters.
Ledley is out of contract next June and his agent, David Baldwin, has previously told BBC Sport Wales that the 27-cap Wales star will see out his current deal rather the re-sign with the Bluebirds.
The Championship side also had to fend off offers in the January transfer window for a number of players, with Ledley and centre back Roger Johnson high on Premier League sides' shopping lists.
Cardiff just missed out on the Championship play-offs this season, losing out to Preston on goals scored on the last day of the regular season.
The Bluebirds will quit Ninian Park for a new, £38m state-of-the-state stadium nearby in Leckwith next season.
The dream is to bring Premier League football to the Bluebirds' new home and Ridsdale says that manager Dave Jones has the backing to strengthen his squad for the new campaign.
"In the meantime I've got about eight or nine new players to bring in anyway, so that we're stronger than we were last season," Ridsdale added.
