Bristol Bears Women have signed Canada international Pamphinette Buisa on a deal until the end of the Premiership Women's Rugby season.
The back row has represented Canada in both XVs and sevens at international tournaments including the Olympics and Sevens World Cup.
The 28-year-old was named in Canada's squad for the recent World Cup where Canada finished runners-up, but suffered an injury in their final warm-up match before the tournament and was ruled out.
Bristol head coach Scott Lawson said Buisa was a "phenomenal addition" to the team.
"She's a dynamic athlete with genuine versatility across the back row, and she plays the game with a level of physicality and intensity that lifts everyone around her," he said.
"Her international experience with Canada brings real pedigree, but equally important is the energy and professionalism she brings off the field."
Buisa is the second international Bears Women have brought in in recent weeks, following New Zealand co-captain Ruahei Demant.
The squad have lost their past four matches since beating Leicester 74-0 in their opening game of the season, to leave them ninth in the table.
