That is so sloppy from the States, as Mike Petri comes over a ruck but clearly plays Kahn Fotuali'i before his opposition scrum-half picks the ball up.
This looks very kickable for Tusi Pisi...

And they have a try! AJ MacGinty's initial break opened it all up for the United States, allowing Seamus Kelly to tee up Chris Wyles for a relatively simple finish from close range.
AJ MacGinty can't convert, but the Americans are right back into this.

Flanker Jack Lam is the latest Samoan to show his dancing feet, breaking the first tackle and gaining fully 30 metres. As the United States scramble back, they concede yet another penalty at the breakdown too - which Tusi Pisi slots with ease.

USA's scrum holds strong and AJ MacGinty clears - but still they're unable to escape their own half.
USA are 8-0 down but they have not been helped by their own poor discipline. They have already conceded five penalties inside the opening 20 minutes.
Samoa come forward again too - but this time it's a forward pass from Joe Tekori that halts that particular attack.

And Samoa have the try they deserve. Tusi Pisi creates it, sending the cutest of grubbers through with two USA defenders upon him, and Tim Nanai-Williams, cousin of New Zealand's Sonny Bill, slides over in the corner. Superbly worked.
Pisi can't convert, but it was his magic that made the try happen.

AJ MacGinty is down and receiving a wee bit of treatment, having been sent tumbling by Filo Paulo when trying to send in a kick and chase.

Tusi Pisi's kick, from full 50 metres accounting for the angle, falls very short though, meaning the States are able to clear long - but inviting the Samoan backs to launch another counter-attack with ball in hand.
The United States have had to do the majority of the defending in the opening 15 minutes - and lock Greg Peterson is penalised for coming off his feet at a ruck, giving Tusi Pisi another shot for the posts...
