Shops attacked in vandalism spree
Shops on Cardiff's Queen Street were vandalised
Shops on Cardiff's Queen Street were attacked
Around £100,000 damage has been caused to stores in one of south Wales' busiest shopping streets after dozens of windows were smashed.

Some of the best-known stores in Cardiff's Queen Street, including Marks and Spencer, Gap, Boots and BHS had their windows damaged shortly before midnight on Sunday.

Thirty-year-old Andrew Roxberry, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody by magistrates in Cardiff on Tuesday.

He is charged with 23 counts of criminal damage.

He will reappear before Cardiff Magistrates' Court next Tuesday

No-one was injured in the incident.

Glaziers spent Monday morning replacing windows on the busy shopping street.

South Wales Police said that at least 15 shops were affected.

Clean-up

A clean-up operation took place to remove smashed glass from the street.

In a statement, South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police are investigating an incident whereby a number of shop windows were damaged in the city centre of Cardiff."
