Agency stays on watch for floods
Weather conditions along the east coast will continue to be monitored closely until the threat of strong winds and high tides has passed.

Environment Agency specialists are on watch in Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

If tides and wind combine with rain, residents along the coast and in river flood plains are at risk.

David Kemp, from the Environment Agency, hopes the region will escape the worst.

"At the moment we are not anticipating a flood situation but weather conditions can be highly changeable without warning," he said.

"We are maintaining a close watch so we are ready if we need to issue information on floods at the appropriate time."
