Flood risk from high tide recedes
High tides, which threatened low-lying land in East Anglia if they were accompanied by stormy weather, have passed without incident.

Normally high equinox tides coincide this year with a higher than normal gravitational pull from the moon.

But the Environment Agency says there would have only been a problem if bad weather conditions brought north winds.

Storms could have caused flood problems in areas of Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

The threat will remain until Monday but forecasts are predicting settled weather.

The high tides will occur again in early October.
