Bereaved carers to be given help
Carers coping with the death of the person they looked after are to be given help and advice at a support group that is being planned.

Social services chiefs say there is a need for a formal group for the scores of carers in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

They say the group will target all carers, but will also help those who have been bereaved.

It is hoped the planned Bicester Carers' Group will meet twice a month after it is launched in January.

The county council is asking people to come forward and suggest the type of services that should be provided.

Jan Panter, assistant manager at the Launton Road day centre where the group will be based, said: "There's a real need for a carers' group in Bicester.

"Although there is a carers' group for people who look after someone with mental health problems, our group will be open to a very wide range of people, including those where the cared for person has died."
