Edinburgh (13) 32 Tries: Traynor, Ford, Turnbull, Hogg Cons: Paterson (3) Connacht (0) 5 Try: Nathan
Edinburgh scored four tries in an emphatic 32-5 win over Connacht in Friday night's Magners League game at Murrayfield, securing a bonus point. A Kyle Traynor try, converted by Chris Paterson, and two Paterson penalties gave Edinburgh a 13-0 half-time lead. Ross Ford, Andrew Turnbull and Allister Hogg added further touchdowns in the second half, with Paterson kicking two conversions for the dominant home side. A Troy Nathan try was the only consolation for the Irish province. After a scoreless first 20 minutes, Traynor crossed the Connacht line for the first try of the game in the 21st minute, Paterson converting. Paterson was successful with penalty attempts in the 27th and 40th minutes to give the Scottish side a comfortable advantage at the interval. Ford's 51st-minute try made the score 18-0 but full-back Paterson was off-target with conversion attempt. Three minutes later, Turnbull crossed the line and Paterson converted while Nathan scored the visitors' only points of the game in the 73rd minute. Hogg scored the final try one minute from time and Paterson's kick made the winning margin 27 points.
