Dragons 18-12 Gloucester: The Cherry and Whites open their LV= Cup campaign with defeat at a filthy Rodney Parade, but Lesley Vainikolo's try helps salvage a losing bonus point in a poor performance littered with errors
Gloucester 36-10 Saracens: They bounced back at Kingsholm a week later to record a first win with a flood of five tries to floor high-flying Saracens, racing to a 24-3 lead at the break and cruising home in the second half
Leeds 16-30 Gloucester: When the competition resumed in January there was no let up in the try scoring exploits with four in a hard-fought bonus-point win at Headingley, winger Tom Voyce crossing for the second
Gloucester 41-8 London Irish: A week later in-form Gloucester won their fifth game on the spin rattling up another thumping win with lock Jim Hamilton going over for one of seven scores to help secure a home semi-final
Gloucester 45-17 Dragons: The semi-final was all about winger Charlie Sharples as Gloucester took revenge for that opening defeat in Newport with a 10th win in a row and another seven-try blitz in front of a baying Shed
Sharples scored four tries and as the scoreboard clicked over after a slow start the hosts could start to celebrate reaching a third successive Anglo-Welsh Cup final where they will meet Newcastle Falcons
Gloucester 34-7 Newcastle: Winger Tom Voyce maintained his fine recent form to reach for an early score and give the Cherry and Whites the perfect start at Franklin's Garden, with Nicky Robinson adding the extras
And having held a 10-point lead at half-time Gloucester extended their advantage early in the second period when Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu finished off a fine move of quick hands also involving Nicky Robinson and Matt Cox
While at the other end the Falcons found their wings clipped time after time and they managed to breach Gloucester's disciplined defensive line just the once with Luke Eves crossing for a late consolation score
And when replacement hooker Darren Dawidiuk was driven over in an old-school Gloucester try from the pack at the death - following a third score from Charlie Sharples - Gloucester's travelling support could start to celebrate
And so could the players, getting their hands on the post-match champagne and, most significantly, the trophy - their first silverware since 2006 and a first domestic success since 2003 - after their 11th win in a row
Man of the match Nicky Robinson landed 14 points with the boot and described the sweet taste of success as "awesome", while head coach Bryan Redpath said he was "chuffed to bits" with the deserved victory
