Back has lost just three games as Leeds head coach
Head coach Neil Back has targeted a fly-half and scrum-half as Leeds Carnegie's main transfer priorities.
Leeds have signed three new players as they prepare for their Premiership return and hope to bring in eight new faces all together.
"We are looking at nine and ten and want to bring players in with experience," Back told BBC Radio Leeds.
"We need someone at fly-half that can control the game and guide the side around the park effectively."
Back added: "We have two very good nines, but we feel we need to get someone in that will help those two guys develop over the next 12 months.
"Beyond that I'm very confident that Joe Bedford, Scott Mathie and our academy product Dan White will be the future of the club.
"But I think in this interim period we need that bit more experience, someone that has been there and done it and that's what we are tracking down currently.
Leeds have brought in second row Marco Wentzel, flanker Alfie Too'ala and back Henry Fa'afili so far and hope to announce another new recruit soon.
"It has been difficult attracting players because we are just returning to the Premiership and the club have been up and down in the last few years," explained World Cup winner Back.
"But we have secured four players already, three have been named, and one we are very close to announcing.
"We are also really close to the two or three that will make the ultimate difference next year.
"I'm confident it will happen, but the sooner it happens the easier I'll rest in my bed at night.
"It [recruitment] has gone extremely well so far and I'm confident we will get the guys we need to help to achieve our goals in year two and that's consolidation in the Premiership."
Meanwhile Leeds have avoided a group of death in the European Challenge Cup next season.
They have been drawn against last year's cup runners-up Bourgoin from France, Italian side Overmach Parma and Romanian Champions Bucuresti Oaks in Pool One of the competition.
