Kick-off: 2000 BST

South Africa have made one change to their starting line-up for Sunday's World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

The Springboks have recalled prop CJ van der Linde, who missed the tense 37-20 quarter-final win over Fiji with a knee injury.

On the bench, former skipper Bobby Skinstad comes in for loose-forward Wikus van Heerden, while Bismarck du Plessis replaces hooker Gary Botha.

Flanker Juan Smith and number eight Danie Roussouw passed fitness tests.

Tight-head prop Van der Linde was initially picked to play against Fiji but pulled out on the eve of the match.

The 27-year-old was replaced by Jannie du Plessis, who had been flown in to replace BJ Botha (knee) in the squad. Du Plessis keeps his place in the 22-man squad.

They are not the underdogs, to say that is a scary thing for us

Springboks coach Jake White

Captain and prop John Smit said the changes would give more impact to the Springbok line-up against a powerful Argentine scrum.

"CJ has had a phenomenal season so far, obviously with the ball which is expected of CJ, but in the scrums he's been colossal as well," Smit said. "It'll give us a lot of stability up front."

Smit added: "Bob brings something a bit different in terms of whether he can get a ball away in an offload, hit a gap or weave some kind of magic which we've all seen him do before."

South Africa romped to a 20-6 lead against Fiji, only for the Pacific Islanders to level at 20-20 midway through the second-half, while Argentina staved off a Scotland fight back to win 19-13.

606: DEBATE

The Springboks are bidding to reach their second World Cup final and have won all 11 of their matches against Argentina.

But the Pumas, playing in their first ever semi-final, are also unbeaten after topping a qualifying pool that featured France and Ireland.

South Africa coach Jake White, a close friend of Pumas boss Marcelo Loffreda, said: "People think we just have to arrive to beat Argentina and that South Africa should be the favourites.

"They think the pressure is on us to win the game, but they (Argentina) have beaten France and won at the Stade de France, not many people can say that in the past couple of years.

"So they are not the underdogs, to say that is a scary thing for us."

South Africa: Montgomery, Pietersen, Fourie, Steyn, Habana, James, Du Preez; Du Randt, Smit (capt), Van der Linde, Botha, Matfield, Burger, Smith, Rossouw.
Replacements: B du Plessis, J du Plessis, Muller, Skinstad, Pienaar, Pretorius, Olivier.
