Warrington twice trailed to Celtic Crusaders but recovered to inflict a sixth straight Super League defeat on the Bridgend club.
The match was tied at 22-22 but Crusaders Ryan O'Hara was crucially sin-binned with eight minutes left.
Lee Briers went on to score a drop goal for Warrington before Chris Hicks sealed victory with a last-gasp try.
Simon Grix, Briers, Matt King and Lee Mitchell also crossed as Warrington won for the second straight week.
Warrington coach Tony Smith:
"I'm pleased that the players found a way to win the game when we didn't play very well. It's a good attribute to have. We were way off today. We are setting high standards for ourselves and we're a bit disappointed.
"Some of the players were flat but there were some outstanding performances. I thought Lee Briers was terrific. He came up with some massive plays, which swung things our way. I thought he was back to some of his best.
"Ben Harrison got an injury but went back out there and toughed it out and Paul Wood had an impact when he came off the bench."
Celtic Crusaders coach John Dixon (on O'Hara's sin-binning):
"We let ourselves down a little bit. We're not in a position to have 13 players against 12. A lack of discipline hurt us.
"I thought the effort was terrific and you've got to give Warrington credit because they were there for 80 minutes.
"We're getting close - we could smell it today - but we're just not quite there yet and that's borne out by the result."
